प्रसन्न व गर्वित हूँ
पापा के इस सम्मान-ग्रन्थ के प्रकाशन से मैं बहुत प्रसन्न व गर्वित हूँ| वो इसके व और सभी सम्मान जो उन्हें प्राप्त हैं सभी के पूर्ण हकदार हैं| बचपन से ही मुझे उनकी सशक्त एवं परिपक्व लेखनी पर विश्वास था कि वो लोगों को पसंद आयेगी और उन्हें प्रेरित व उत्साहित करेगी |
उनकी रचनाएँ पूर्ण ज्ञान व अनुभव से परिपूर्ण हैं| जहां लोग सिर्फ खुद लोकप्रियता प्राप्त करने के लिए लिखते हैं वहीं पापा सामाजिक सांस्कृतिक मूल्यों के वर्धन हित रचना करते हैं| उनका वर्षों का ज्ञान व अनुभव उनकी रचनाओं में मिलता है,ऐसे विषयों में –ईश्वरीय-ज्ञान,सत्य व सत्याचरण,व्यवहारिकता, सांस्कृतिक व सामाजिक मुद्दे उनकी रचनाओं के मुख्य विषय हैं|
मैं पापा को बहुत बहुत बधाई देना चाहती हूँ उनके योग्यता के अनुरूप सम्मान के लिए जिसके वे संपूर्ण रूप से अधिकारिक पात्र हैं |

Humanitarianism, knowledge, professionalism & simplicity -
personified.
This is how I see Dr. SB Gupta my father, since childhood. When he was a
Medical Officer in Indian Railways I have seen him as a recognized and revered
Doctor – by his colleagues as well as his patients, subordinates, et al. Even
in my teens, he has been true inspiration to me, as a teacher, sportsperson,
and as a responsible citizen.
It was actually towards his second innings in life (and my first innings)
when I discovered a deeper and sensitive aspect – a poet in him. This aspect
gave me a learning that has been with me so far – that we can be a
bread-earner, a respectable social icon – and can congruently pursue our
passion too – that it’s imperative to be passionate about something/s in life.
With my rather limited exposure to the literary and philosophical aspects
of life, Hinduism, and world in general – as a poet also, I see my father a
proponent of values, ethics, morale and fundamentals like love, admiration,
traditions, friendship, technology, growth flow into his words, creating
kaleidoscope of real life situations and behaviors.
The ‘ageet’ style of his work in poems, prose and stories brings out
quite simplistically what we see, do, think or perceive in our daily lives and,
I have seen instances in his poems how our traditions and literature are still
relevant today. He has so well consummated that rights/wrongs, fundamentals
don’t really ever change, and science & technology are just a
medium/journey to drive happiness and satisfaction around the world, and not a
way to earn material rewards.
There are myriad instances that can be quoted but I think it is remarkable
for a ‘Master of Medicines’ to be so well versed with literature and cultures
of our country as well as around the globe. The ability to honestly pen down
diverse aspects of world so effortlessly is seldom seen – not only in my
personal experiences around the globe and India, but also rarely seen in
Internet, media, cultural events, celebrations, debates etc from different
parts of the country.
I feel really proud to have got this opportunity to express my appreciation
and respect for my father and this passion of his. I wish him all the very best
in his ‘second innings’ too!
